Fresh Jackfruit “Pulled Pork” Style BBQ Sliders

  • 8lb Fresh Jackfruit; *Yields 2-4 Cups of fruit
  • 1 Pack of Hamburger Buns
  • 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Medium sized Onion
  • 1/2 Cup of water
  • 1/2 Cup of BBQ Sauce of your choice



  • Cut Jackfruit in half, then in quarters (If sticky, coat your knife with coconut oil)
  • Pull the pieces of yellow flesh apart, throwing away the seeds and white stringy pieces and collecting all the yellow “meat” in a bowl
  • Chop onions and place in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat with olive oil until translucent
  • Add Jackfruit and cook until it begins to soften (8-10 minutes)
  • Add water (Or a lager beer can be used) until it is evaporated
  • Add BBQ sauce, turn down heat, cook until bubbly and jackfruit begins to fall apart, resembling pulled pork
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper, then serve on slider!
  • Garnish with toppings like, pickles, onions, cilantro
