What began with one man's determination and a truck filled with fresh produce has grown into a family-run market serving generations of Metro Detroit shoppers.
Joe Randazzo was born Giuseppe Randazzo in Terrasini, Sicily, on January 5, 1927. The son of Salvatore and Maria Randazzo, he grew up with the work ethic, courage and devotion to family that would later define his business.
In January 1953, at the age of 26, Giuseppe left Sicily in search of opportunity in America. His journey was difficult, but his determination carried him forward. After arriving in New Orleans, he eventually joined his uncle, Antonio Bommarito, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and later became an American citizen.
This was the beginning of a story built through hard work, perseverance and a belief that a better future was possible.
What started with a used truck and a commitment to fresh produce has grown into four family-run markets serving Metro Detroit.
Joe Randazzo arrived in America and began building a new life in Metro Detroit.
Joe opened his first fruit and vegetable market in Detroit.
The family business expanded into the nursery industry in Macomb Township.
Joe Randazzo's operates four family-run markets serving Detroit, Dearborn Heights, Roseville and Westland.
Joe built his business around a simple promise: offer fresh food, a wide selection and outstanding value, then pass the savings on to the customer.
That philosophy continues to guide Joe Randazzo's today. Our family remains committed to helping Metro Detroit shoppers bring home quality fruits, vegetables and market essentials at prices they can feel good about.
Joe continued leading the family business until his passing in 2015. Today, his family carries his vision forward through the same values that shaped the original market: hard work, quality, affordability and service to the community.
More than 70 years after Joe arrived in America, his original promise remains at the heart of every Joe Randazzo's market.
